What we keep, and what we don’t
Privacy Policy
Your account
To listen, save and keep your place you need an account: your email address and a password, or Sign in with Apple or Google. We store your email, display name, the shows you follow, the episodes, chapters and playlists you save, your place in each episode, your notification settings and your membership status.
How you use the app
So we can improve Turnel and show you your listening stats, the app records what happens in it: which episodes and sounds you play and for how long, the screens you open, searches, the sleep timer, downloads, and steps on the membership screen. Each record carries the time, your time zone, your country (from your device settings), your device model and the iOS and app versions. When you are signed in it is linked to your account; before that, to a random number created on your phone. We keep these records for 13 months.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other companies' apps and websites. We do not use your location, contacts, microphone or photos.
How Turnel sounds
Narration in Turnel’s shows and audiobooks is produced with synthetic speech, from scripts written and edited by people.
Payments
Apple processes subscription purchases. We receive your membership status from Apple through RevenueCat, the service that manages our subscriptions; we never see your payment details.
Services we use
Our servers and database (Render, in the EU), storage for audio and artwork (Cloudflare), email for password resets (Resend), and subscription records (RevenueCat). They process data only to run Turnel.
Your choices
You can delete your account at any time in the app under You, Settings. That permanently removes your account, listening history, saved items and stats. To receive a copy of your data, or for any other privacy request, email support@turnel.app. If you live in the EU, the UK or Turkey you also have the rights GDPR and KVKK give you.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we update the date below and tell you in the app. Questions: support@turnel.app.
